About EasyFM

EasyFM 93.3 has been serving the Central Coast community since 1993. From humble beginnings broadcasting to just a few streets in Umina, the station has grown into a community broadcaster reaching listeners right across the Central Coast of New South Wales.
Operating from our modern studios in North Gosford, EasyFM is proudly run entirely by dedicated volunteers. We broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, providing a trusted local service that informs, entertains and connects our community.
While our heritage is as Radio Five-O-Plus, EasyFM is for everyone who enjoys the timeless music of the 1960s, 70s and 80s. Our easy listening format brings back memories for many listeners while introducing great music to new generations.
As your local community radio station, we do much more than play great music. EasyFM keeps Central Coast listeners up to date with local news, community events, weather, traffic, sport and information about the people, organisations and activities that make our region such a vibrant place to live.

The management of EasyFM

The station operates like most other organisations that you may be familiar with. There is a Board, a Station Manager reporting to the Board, the volunteers who assist the Station Manager in the day to day operation of the station as well as various committees as may be defined in the station policies and procedures.

Annual General Meeting

The Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 25th November, 2026. Location to be advised. All members are welcome to attend. Please contact the radio station on 4325 1950 if you are attending.

Station Governance

The station is governed by an elected Board. Board members are nominated and then elected by the radio station members at the Annual General Meeting. Nominations for Board membership are welcome from members of the station that have been members for 12 months or more. Reporting to the Board is the Station Manager, Allan Maddox. History of Radio Five-O-Plus

Radio Five-0-Plus was born due to radio buffs Phil Paterson and Ian Hill who felt the need for a local community radio station in the Woy Woy Peninsular area catering for seniors’ music tastes.

Timeline of events

  • March 1993 – Radio Five-0-Plus first went to air during Seniors Week in March 1993.
  • August 1993 – Regular broadcasting began two days per week using a small room above a pharmacy in Umina as the “studio”.
  • 1994 -With the help of Gosford Council, a transmitter was set up on Rumbalara at East Gosford with increased power of 200 watts, giving a much wider listening area. The studio was relocated to Mann Street Gosford. Broadcasts were provided on weekends and later extended to included Mondays.
  • 1999 – the right to broadcast 24/7 was granted.
  • February 2001 – a new transmitter was installed on Rumbalara at East Gosford which increased the power of our signal to 1,000 watts.
  • 22 November 2002 – a Permanent Broadcasting Licence by the Australian Communications Media Authority (ACMA) was granted with the call sign 2SNR on the frequency of 93.3MhzFM.
  • 16 February 2005- National Radio News was broadcast six times per day on weekdays and three to four times per day on weekends. 
  • March 2005 – Some wonderful staff members donated and fitted out a caravan to create our own mobile studio named “Little Bippy”.  On 20 March 2005, Little Bippy’s first outside Broadcast occurred from the Terrigal Seniors Citizens Club to coincide with 2005 Seniors Week.
  • 30 June 2005 – the transmitter was relocated to Somersby with the installation of a new antenna system.  Broadcasting commenced in stereo at 2000 watts from a Mixed Polarised antenna.
  • 2007 – Radio Five-O-Plus broadcasting licence was renewed for another five years.
  • 12 June 2009 – the station relocated from Mann Street to the current premises at Unit 13/31 Dwyer Street, North Gosford.
  • 2011- The station began broadcasting Macquarie Radio News and a further increase of news bulletins took place in 2012.
  • February 2012 Australian Communication Media Authority (ACMA) granted renewal of 2SNR’s Permanent Broadcasting Licence to 2017.
  • April 2012 – Little Bippy was retired and the radio took delivery of a Community Liaison Van donated by Freemasons Northern Region Branch, Diggers at the Entrance, Gosford RSL Club, Gosford RSL Sub-branch, the Central Coast Leagues Club and our own station fund-raising.
  • April 2012, the transmitter and antenna were relocated to a new adjacent radio tower and share a common antenna, in a joint venture, with two other local community stations.  All three community stations now broadcast at 2,000 watts each in stereo, from a Vertical Antenna. 

From a very small beginning by the founding members, we now have:

  • a dedicated staff of presenters who present live broadcasts daily
  • dedicated support staff to assist the presenters and handle the phones as well as manage the office work to keep the station up and running 24/7.
  • the station covering the whole Central Coast area from the Hawkesbury River to Lake Macquarie plus we have listeners in the Blue Mountains, Northern Beaches and Newcastle.
  • with the advent of streaming, we have listeners tuning in from regional areas, interstate and overseas.

However, we wouldn’t be in business but for the wider community who listen to us every day and who have supported us.
